It’s easier to get to the University of Exeter than you might think: The university is on the outskirts of the city of Exeter, which is next to the M5 motorway and has an airport and a main train line to London Paddington. There are direct trains from London (~2-3 hours) and Manchester (~4 hours)

The nearest airports are Exeter Airport and Bristol Airport. The nearest port is Portsmouth (<3 hours by train) which has direct sailings from France (e.g. Caen, Cherbourg) and Spain (e.g. Bilbao, Santander).
